World Book Day (officially Thursday 5th March) will be celebrated in school on Friday 6th March.
Our theme for this year is 'Reading for Pleasure'. Children are invited to dress for comfort on that day, whether that be character costume, loungewear or sports wear.
Your child will receive a £1 World Book Day voucher which is valid until 15th March. They cannot be used at the school Book Fair this year as it is not in school until 25th March.
Potato character competition
There will be an optional potato character competition. This is a creative opportunity to turn a simple potato or potatoes into book characters. These should be brought into school on the morning of Friday 6th March and will be displayed in our school library. Prizes for the most imaginative potato characters. Keep an eye out for the photos!
Paired Reading
In order to promote the reading for pleasure, we are asking families to take part in the Paired Reading initiative for the week beginning Monday 2nd March to Sunday 8th March. This involves an adult reading with their child for 10-15mins daily. A participation letter will be sent home to sign followed by a Paired Reading journal for those who wish to take part.
