Strike Action – Thursday 16^th November 

School closed All Day 

Dear parent / carer

The situation has become clearer today in relation to the number of staff who are unable to work for any part of the day on Thursday.

In light of this we have had to revise our risk assessment and it is now deemed necessary to close for the full day on Thursday 16^th November.

Notes on the strike:

The strike action is linked to continuing and detrimental cuts to education.  

Our own school is suffering greatly as a direct consequence of the cuts in educational funding and running a school where we can keep over 800 pupils safe, warm and with adequate resources is increasingly difficult.  In fact, with the actual budget allocated, it is impossible. 

Therefore, while disruptive to your routine, I would ask sincerely that you support the actions of the unions and staff in trying to affect change.
