Strike Action - school closure

Dear Parents and Carers

Strike Action – Thursday 18^th January

School will be closed all day to pupils due to planned strike action.

All five teaching unions and all four non-teaching unions have instructed their members to participate in strike action.

The strike action is linked to continuing and detrimental cuts to education, as well as pay.  As mentioned previously, our own school is suffering greatly as a direct consequence of the cuts in educational funding and running a school where we can keep over 800 pupils safe, warm and with adequate resources is increasingly difficult.  In fact, with the actual budget allocated, it is impossible.

Therefore, while disruptive to your routine, I would ask sincerely that you support the actions of the unions and staff in trying to affect change.
