COVID-19 in our Local Community and Implications for School Safety.

Covid-19 in our Community.

Dear parents

Many of you will know that there are positive Covid results in our local community and many of the local clubs are communicating via their social media platforms their issues with Covid.

For clarity:

  • If someone in your household is called to go for a test, then everyone in the household must isolate until that test comes back negative.
  • If someone in your house tests positive every member of the house must isolate for minimum 14 days. If, in that time, a second person becomes symptomatic that person must isolate for a further 10 days and get tested.

If these scenarios are applicable to your family, and especially if one of our pupils tests positive it is very important that you let me know. It has implications for our class bubbles and in limiting the spread to other families.

The quickest way to contact me is via email.

I respectfully ask that all adults entering the school playgrounds wear a face covering or face mask to protect themselves and others and adhere to social distancing from other families.

Next week please use the turning circle, supervised by our staff, to Drive and Drop the children at school. It will help limit footfall in our school grounds and hopefully take some of the traffic off the road. However there is strictly no parking in the Drop and Drive area. All children from P4 upwards can enter the school grounds without their parents’ assistance. We have supervision at each of the gates and children go straight to class when they arrive.

The new staggered start times commence next week. Please keep to your times and this will hopefully keep everything flowing.

Thank you for your cooperation.   With Covid-19 on the rise in our own community we must take care of ourselves and others.
