📚Book Week 2024 📚

26th Feb 2024

Our School will be celebrating Book Week form Monday 4th March - Friday 8th March

Events

  • All pupils will receive a World Book Day voucher. These can be used to purchase a free book in WATERSTONES at RUSHMERE,  ASDA and TESCO or as £1 off a book. Supplies of these are limited so use your token quickly! Rushmere are doing a World Book day event this Saturday 2nd March with book characters and events. All Waterstones staff will be dressed up for the event - check out social media for more information.
  • Paired Reading Programme to commence with all pupils encouraged to read at home with a parent/guardian or other adult. This is an excellent programme to be involved in which both you and your child will thoroughly enjoy. A letter explaining this will be sent home with all pupils this week.
  • Charlie Graham visiting author on Monday 4th March. Charlie will be sharing his new book 'Missing Monkeys' with all pupils throughout the day. I have enclosed a newspaper article regarding Charlie Graham and his new book. Pupils may request a signed copy of the book to receive on the day for £7 by bringing in money to their class teacher no later than Friday 1st March.
  • Fun activities throughout the week to promote an enjoyment in reading.
  • Thursday 7th March - Official world Book day. Check out these two links for story audios to share with your children.

  • Friday 8th March will be a Dress up/ non-uniform day. There is no obligation to dress up or buy a costume. Home made costumes or own clothes can work just as well. Pupils will be encouraged to bring their favourite book to school on the day.

Hopefully it will be a fun week for all. Look out for lots of photos on our website to share our activities with you.
