Friends of St. Francis’ is the parent teacher association for St Francis’ Primary School and Bunscoil Naomh Proinsais.
We are a group of volunteer parents supported in our role by Mrs Buck, our teacher representative.
Our aims are:
to enhance and improve each child’s experience of their time in school;
to get parents as a group more involved in what goes on in school
to establish links between St. Francis’ Primary School and the local community in Lurgan and beyond.
We are probably most recognisable as the ladies who serve tea at school events but that isn't all we do. We also organise social events within school and fundraise to provide equipment and experiences that aren't covered by the budget.
Should I join the Friends of St. Francis’? YES!
Every year some parents will leave our committee as their child leaves the school so we always need new people to join up. We hold our AGM in late September and everyone is invited to attend. If you would like to join our committee, we usually meet once a month in school on a Tuesday evening. You can volunteer with Friends of St. Francis without becoming a committee member, whatever suits best. The Friends of St. Francis give every parent a chance to become more involved in your child’s school life, meet other parents, hear their ideas and make things better for everyone.
